Chapter 94
“Where are you, Lorraine?” he muttered under his breath, his eyes scanning the surroundings.
He was at the old, decrepit house she had mentioned, a shadow of its former sell. The walls were crumbling, and much of the floor was broken. The area was eerily silent, with no one else around.
He couldn’t stay still, pacing back and forth. His legs ached from standing too long, but he couldn’t leave. Anxiety gnawed at him–what if something had happened to her on the way! He would never forgive himself if she got hurt because of him.
He tried calling her again, but her phone was still off. His worry grew with each passing second, but no matter what, he wouldn’t leave until she
“Lorraine, p–please. Where are you?”
Suddenly, he noticed a figure approaching. His heart leaped as he rushed forward, only for his hopes to crash when he realized it wasn’t her. It was another woman, startled to see him.
He paid her no further attention and returned to his spot, resuming his anxious wait. The woman walked past him, leaving him alone once more.
His eyelids were heavy, Exhaustion tugged at him, but he refused to leave. He wouldn’t rest until she arrived. Just a glimpse of her, a shadow even would ease the storm in his heart. He still believed that everything was just a misunderstanding.
He was about to take a step forward when he froze, hearing the sound of shifting gravel. Someone was walking toward him
He swallowed hard but braced himself to face whoever it was. His eyes widened as he realized it wasn’t just one person approaching but three large. burly men. From the moment he saw them, he sensed they meant trouble.
“There he is!” one of them sneered.
“Yeah, that must be the one our boss mentioned, another said with a laugh that sent a chill down his spine.
“He’s night. He must be that rich! Boss must give us a lot of money for this,” said another, spinning a knife in his hand.
His gaze locked onto the knife, baseball bat, and even a gun He instinctively stepped back, coldness tightening in his chest. He had no chance against their weapons or their size :
“I don’t want any trouble-
“Same here. But money is money, so, here we are, one of them cut him off with a snicker,
He swallowed again, their gazes piercing through him like he was a prized possession waiting to be claimed. He continued backing away as they stepped closer.
“We can make a lot out
this one,” another said with a wicked grin.

Shaking his head, he pleaded. “I’m waiting for so
far someone. I don’t have anything—”
“Shh,” one of them ordered coldly.
He didn’t want any trouble. He didn’t want to get hurt. He still needed to see Lorraine. Without arguing, he pulled his wallet from his pocket and handed it over, along with his watch.
“Here…” he said, extending th
them shakily. One of the men snatched them immediately
He thought they’d leave him alone after that, but then their eyes fell on the phone sticking out of his pocket.
Not my phone…
He couldn’t give that up. What if Lorraine called? That phone was his only way to reach her.
“Hand it over if you don’t want to say goodbye to your life tonight, one of them smirked. “Fuck off!”
But they only laughed mockingly. “Oh, can you put up a fight?”
Their laughter echoed around him, but he shook his head. He didn’t like this idea. All he wanted was to be with his girlfriend. Why did they have to take even that away from himd

The men chased after him, their footsteps thundering behind him. His legs carried himinto an old, abandoned house. It was pitch dark inside, he kept running.
He skidded to a halt, nearly losing his balance. Two men stood in front of him, blocking his path, while the third was right behind him. Before he could react, they grabbed him and threw him to the ground.
He landed hard his elbows and arms scraping against shards of glass. He groaned as prins shot through his body
“Fuck!” he whimpered, only to feel a sharp kick to his stomach,
“P–Please stop……
But the kicks didn’t stop. He couldn’t count how many there were, only that pain radiated from his sides, bark, and stomach. Over and over, the blows Lander.
When a particularly strong kick struck his stomach, he coughed up blood. He closed his eyes against the searing pain. He wasn’t weak. But now, he felt utterly powerless
“Pick him up,” he heard one of them order
Two strong hands yanked him up by the arm, forcing him to stand even though his body was limp with exhaustion. He groaned, his borty trembling from the pain.
Then came the punches–one after another. His body became a punching bag as the blows landed all over him. Blood trickled from his mouth, but be kept his eyes shut. Another blow Another wave of excruciating pain.
When they finally let go, he crumpled to the floor. He felt their hands reaching for his pocket and realized they’d taken his phone..
He thought they’d leave him after taking everything, but he was wrong. One of them stepped closer, holding a knife.
He screamed as the blade plunged into his abdomen, sharp and cold. His cries grew louder as the knife was pulled out, only to pierce him again and again.
