Chapter 93
At that moment,
Callisto felt unbearably heavy, his body racked with discomfort. Though asleep, his brow was deeply furrowed, beads of sweat forming and chilling his forehead. Despite being wrapped snugly in a blanket, he still felt a biting cold that refused to leave him.
He had a vivid dream–so real it felt like the truth
The sun was setting, the sky in a twilight haze. But this didn’t matter to the man running frantically, sweat pouring down his body as he gasped for
Tears streamed uncontrollably down his face, blending with his sweat. His mind was in chaos, filled with troubling scenarios. His heart felt like it was being squeezed tight as the thought crossed his mind–was his wife having an affair with his younger brother, Cassian?
He walked faster after getting out of his car, eventually bursting into Lorraine’s parents mansion, Wiping away his tears, he anxiously searched for her. His eyes darted around umil they landed on someone unexpected.
“Callisto!” A woman approached him, puzzled. “What are you doing here?”
“Amber! Where’s Lorraine! T–tell me, please please… I need to see her? His desperation was evident.
He could do nothing but chase after her, his thoughts spiraling into despair. She always worried him, always kept him guessing ever since pictures of her and Cassian together doing unacceptable things started being sent to him. The thought that she really wasn’t in her parents‘ mansion made him dizzy.
Lorraine had said she was visiting her parents‘ house, but he’d once again received pictures suggesting otherwise–photos of Lorraine and Cassian looking as if they were on vacation together. He didn’t know who was sending these pictures or whether their purpose was simply to slander him and Lorraine. He knew his wife. She couldn’t possibly cheat on him
The woman looked down, her nervousness obvious. “T–I’m sorry.”
“Sorry! No, Amber. Please, answer me! I need an answer right now! I need to know where she isť He was begging now, not caring how pathenc he might seem.
Pain flickered across Amber’s face. She looked at him with an unusual expression, but it didn’t matter. All he needed was to know where Lorraine
WILL
“Amber, please.. I have—”
“She’s with Csian right now, she interrupted.
His eyes widened momentarily before pain overtook him. Her brother. Cassian, the one who never left her side. While he was away, Cassian had taken his chance. He’d sometimes hated Cassian–the way he joked around about Lorraine as if she belonged to him
Why was she with that man! Why hadn’t she told him? Why had she left without a word? Was she leaving him for Cassian? Was he not enough to make her stay?
I’m sorry, Callisto 1-1 tried to stop her from leaving… but she insisted on going with Cassian while you were on a business trip. It seems she needs him more than you. Amber’s words struck him like a knife.
He blinked rapidly, swallowing hard.
“I’m so sorry, Callisto, I want to be mad at her for choosing Cassian over you, her husband but please, try to understand Lorraine. I think her feelings for you have changed. Maybe she’s in love with Cassian.”
Her words only deepened his pain. Knowing that the woman he loved might have fallen for someone che was unbearable. Why did she have to be cruel Cassian of all people! The man she replaced him with
“Lorraine, but she loves me… right? She loves me… she promised…
“If she truly loved you, why is she having an affair with Cassian? Think about it, Callisto!”
I love her! Can’t
you see he cried out, his voice breaking. “I can’t lose her. I don’t want to lose her.”
“But you already have!” Amber snapped “She’s not yours anymore, Callisto. She’s with him?”
His tears flowed uncontrollably. Even as he wiped them, they wouldn’t stop. He turned away from Amber and stormed off with heavy steps.

“Callistot Callisto!” She called after him, but he ignored her.
He needed to see Lorraine. He wouldn’t rest until he found her and spoke to her face–to–face. He loved her so much, and the thought of losing her to someone else tore him apart.
Lorraine loves me. She loves me… Not him… not that guy. There must be a misunderstanding!”
He kept calling her, desperately trying to reach her. The area around him was dark, his all–black attire blending perfectly into the night. His black hood concealed him further.
“L–Lorraine… Please answer my calls please. I’m begging you…”
An hour had passed since he began calling her. His phone pressed to his ear, he tried again and again. He kept texting and calling her without
pause
“L–Lorraine, please…
I miss you so much
“Callisto His breath hitched when he heard her voice through the phone. Tears immediately welled up in his eyes, and he couldn’t stop the sob that escaped his lips.
“L–Lorraine… W–Where are you? Why aren’t you answering the phone?”
“I’m sorry, Callisto,” she said in a low, almost whispering voice. What she said next, however, shattered him. “I told you I’m at my parents‘ house. We, um, got too caught up talking with Amber, so I didn’t hear my phone ringing”
He froze, speechless. He couldn’t react immediately, but his heart pounded wildly.
“R–Really?” He tried his best to steady his hoarse voice, but his overflowing emotions betrayed him
“Uh, yes. Don’t worry. The next time you call. I’ll answer it quickly, Callisto I love-
“Lorraine, baby- The call abruptly ended.
His body stiffened as Lorraine’s voice was replaced by another–a nun’s. He didn’t need to guess who it was. He knew it was Cassian.
Callisto’s hands curled into fists, his anger boiling over. The audacity of that man to use the word “baby” fels like a knife twisting in his chest. It was as if Cission was claiming that he and Lorraine were together.
Unable to contain lus rage, he slammed his fist into the nearest wall, over and over, letting his fury, jealousy, and heartbreak p
pour out
Minutes passed, and when his anger subsided, he tried calling her again, only to find her number unreachable. Frustrated, he grabbed his hair in his hands, tilting his head up to the dark sky.
“T–please help me… I just want to be with her.”
Lost in his despair, his phone suddenly buzzed, offering him a glimmer of hope. A message from Lorraine lit up the screen. “Meet me at the old house nearby wille
for me there, Callisto,”
