y problem was he was also careless with a lot of things. For example, his child. That is, me.
I looked around my apartment to see that his security details were also inside. I groaned.
“We talked about this. You don’t go beyond your boundary,” I reminded him of what he promised. “This is beyond your boundary,”
“You also promised to spend ten hours of your day with me. I didn’t see you all through last night,”
He suddenly complained.
My eyes went wide in disbelief. “Why are you craving for attention?” I spat.
He placed his hand on my shoulder. I growled. He quickly removed it.
“I’m your father. I’m allowed to touch you,”
I shook
my
head.
“You’re not an exception to that rule,” I warned him.
“Listen, Rowan. I had to ask Mika to bring me here because you were nowhere to be found”
Mika, right? Was it until I killed her before she realized she was doing too much?
“What do you want?” I asked again. I had so much to deal with but I wasn’t ready to deal with the King that morning.
“Call me dad, is that too much to ask?” He asked.
I deepened my frown but remained silent. He got the memo.
“Fine! I won’t ask for too much. Who’s the girl?” He asked, his tone changing from being playful to being serious all of a sudden.
I raised an eyebrow, reminding him he was doing too much again.
‘I’m serious, Rowan. Who is she? She looks familiar and from the little I heard, I think I might have an idea as to why she can’t remember what happened over the past few days.”

I cocked my eyebrow. “She’s nobody. Stay out of my pack’s business,”
Mika came out of my room.
“She’s one of the two girls who came into our pack weeks ago. I mentioned them last night,” she replied to my dad,
“Mika?” I growled, warning her. She gave me an apologetic smile before she shrugged.
She pulled my hand and we walked to a secluded part of the room.
“I think something’s wrong with her. She’s bubbly,”
Mika said with disgust. It was unusual. Harriette, whom we knew, wasn’t that jovial. It was a relief for me that I wasn’t the only one who found that weird.
“I don’t think she’s pretending. She really doesn’t remember,” Mika informed me. “And it isn’t the first time,”
I was perplexed. “When was the first time?”
I asked her again.
“The day Thorne came to the art studio, she painted something but when I showed it to her the next day, she said it wasn’t hers. She claimed she didn’t paint it,”
“Is she a Dreamwalker?” The Werewolf King suddenly asked.
I groaned as I turned to glare at him. “Eavesdropping, now?” I complained.
“Rowan. You’re the only one who can disrespect me this much and I’ll take it only because you’re my son. If it was another person, their heads would roll at my feet and I’d walk to my throne while stepping on their blood,”
“Then go back to your fucking palace and leave me alone,” I yelled through gritted teeth.
The entire house fell silent.
He turned to Mika. “Is she a Dreamwalker?” He asked again, ignoring the fact that I just yelled at him.
“What does that mean?” Mika asked.
I knew what he was talking about but there was no way Harriette would be something like that. According to the classes I took as a werewolf prince, their kind of species has been distinct for a long while. No one even knew about them in the werewolf world except for the Royal family.
“Can I ask her?” he asked. Mika looked at me for permission. I looked away. I collapsed into a chair. My hatred for this man was getting the worst out of me and I needed to control my anger.
Mika opened the door to my room. I heard him ask Harriette the same question and the girl was even oblivious to what he
meant.
“Dreamwalkers are gifted werewolves who can walk in dreams. They’re sleeping but in their dreams, they’re awake and can walk around the pack. They can know what people around them are doing when they’re sleeping. Sometimes, their dreams aren’t what is happening presently, it’s a future occurrence. They can also travel through people’s dreams,”
Harriette became silent.
“I don’t think so,” she finally answered.
My father and Mika came out of the room and locked the door behind him.
“She’s lying,” I agreed with him,
“From her body language, it was obvious that she was lying. She’s either a Dreamwalker or she knows someone who is,”
“She has a sister,” Mika told the king.
He snapped his fingers. “It could be her or her sister,”

“How is that possible?” He asked again. “The last of them died some years ago,”
“Who is she?” He asked.
I shrugged. “That’s what I’m trying to find out,”
“Do you know why she doesn’t remember anything?” Mika asked him.
“If she’s a Dreamwalker, then it’s definitely possible. It’s on
