Chapter 30
Axion Enterprises‘ club was located on the southern outskirts of Harrowfell, surrounded by a beautiful landscape of mountains and lakes. It was a comprehensive venue combining equestrian sports, high–end social events, and an exclusive private club.
In addition to offering activities like horseback riding, golf, tennis, and swimming, it boasted a luxury hotel, beauty salon, lounges, and vibrant nightclubs. It was designed to meet the social, entertainment, and relaxation needs of the elite from Harrow fell and the surrounding cities
The club operated on a membership system, with different levels granting varying privileges. Of course, even the lowest–tier members weren’t ordinary people.
The owner of this club was Nathaniel, the youngest beir of Axion Enterprises. He had been Dominick’s classmate during their time at an elite private school, which Marissa and Julian had also attended.
Marissa had been admitted through connections with the Vanderbilt family Julian, on the other hand, had earned a spot due to his exceptional academic performance as part of a scholarship program.
For the club’s grand opening gala, Nathaniel had not only invited Dominick but also extended the invitation to their former teachers and classmates from school.
With her spirits high. Marissa couldn’t stop smiling as she gazed our at the passing scenery and their approaching destination. “Dom, look” she chirped. This place is actually pretty nice. Seems like Nathaniel, that troublemaker. Enally decided in lake something seriously for once.”
Unlike Dominick, who had been groomed from a young age to inherit his family’s business, Nathaniel, as the youngest heir of an old–money family, had the luxury of being reckless and indulgent. With no pressure to become the successor back then, he’d always done as he pleased.
Back in school, Nathaniel had been a troublemaker through and through. If he wasn’t getting into fights, he was chasing girls. He even once nearly blew up
the school
His grades had been so poor that the Beaumont family had no choice but to send him abroad after graduation. No one expected that, upon his return, he’d pull off such a big accomplishment.
Julian glanced back from the front passenger seat and chuckled, “If Nathunici didn’t start proving himself soon, the Beaumont family would’ve exiled him for good.” Dominick, staring out the window, remained leni, neither agreeing nor disagreeing with Julian’s remark.
The Beaumont family’s internal affairs were even more complicated than the Vanderbilt family’s. What they called “exile” was, in some ways, a form of protection for Nathaniel. After all, he was the heir to the Beaumont family. Even abroad, Ins life was one of luxury and privilege.
With the competition for the Beaumont family’s succession growing fierce, Nathaniel’s return at this time surely had a deeper motive.
Dominick had no interest in the Beaumont family’s internal drama. However, with Vanderbilt Group’s upcoming collaboration with Axion Enterprises, he understood that any move by Azion Enterprise–especially from Nathaniel–could have significant implications for Vanderbilt Group.
Therefore, for Dominick, this visit wasn’t about attending an opening gala or a casual reunion like it was for Marissa and the others. It was an opportunity to closely observe Axion Enterprises and Nathaniel. Everything else was just meaningless socializing
Meanwhile, Grayson sat quietly in the car, his gaze drifting to the lush trees and greenery outside. Unexpectedly, he found himself thinking of Paisley. He wondered if she could recognize the trees, flowers, and grass here.
Before long, the car entered the club grounds and stapped at the hotel’s main entrance. A team of reception staff and a group of early–arriving classmates were already waiting by the door
Upon seeing Dominick’s car pull in, everyone broke into warm smiles, lining up on either side of the car door as if they were peasants awaiting arrival of a king
Though they had been classmates once, not everyone had the chance to cross paths with Dominick again after stepping into the real world
The club’s general manager, David Wikon, personally stepped forward to greet him, opening the car door with a bright smile. “Welcome, Mr. Vanderbils. It’s an honor to have you here.”
Marissa stood beside Dominick, holding Grayson’s hand, looking every bit like a picture–perfect family of three. Former classmates eagerly approached to greet Dominick, but he responded with a cold and distant demeanor
“I have to say. Marissa, you and Dominick look just like a family,” Alexis Foster said. Back in school, she and Marisa had been close friends, and they had stayed in touch even after graduation

are family,” she
Marissa smiled faintly. This was exactly the impression she wanted to create and the message she intended to send. “Dom and I are fan replied softly, glancing up at Dominick to gauge his reaction
When she saw that Dominick didn’t refute her words and maintained his faint, reserved smile, her own smile deepened. Sure enough, after hearing her answer, the way everyone looked at her changed noticeably. Their gazes carried a newfound respect, as though they were seeing the future Mrs.
This was precisely the effect Marina desired and aimed to convey. She wanted everyone in Harrowfell’s elite circles to know that she was the only woman who belonged by Dominick’s side.
David spoke respectfully. “Mr. Vanderbilt, Mr. Beaumont is unable to attend due to work commitments, so he asked me to welcome you on his behalf. Rooms have already been prepared for you. Please, allow me to show you the way
Dominick then gave a slight nod, signaling for him to lead the way.
At that moment, an MPV pulled up slowly at the entrance. As the door opened, a familiar figure came into view, matching Dominick and the others‘
attention.
From inside the car, Paisley noticed the crowd gathered at the hotel entrance from a distance. She frowned slightly and asked, “Why are there so many people at the entrance, Lucy? Are they here for us?”
Lucy looked puzzled. “I don’t think so. The manager in charge of receiving us, Ms. Wendy Lewis, just messaged me. She said she got held up and. asked us to wal for her in the hotel lobby,”
While they talked, the car came to a stop at the entrance. Lucy got out first, opened the door for Paisley, and took her luggage.
On the other side of the car, the nanny, Maria, stepped out holding Serena. The little girl was bursting with excitement. Ever since arriving in Harrowfell, Serena hadn’t had much chance to run around and enjoy herself in open spaces. Today, she scored eager to make up for it.
As soon as Paisley stepped out of the car, she spotted Dominick and Grayson standing with Marissa, surrounded by a crowd of people showering them with compliments. Paisley thought, ‘No wonder there’s such a crowd at the entrance–it’s because Dominick, the big shot, is here.“”
Dominick was unusually dressed down today. He wore a gray–and–white cardigan over a plain white T–shin paired with loose–fitting, well–tailored white casual trousers. Beside him. Marissa donned a well–matched luxury casual outfit. Her long, curly hair flowed naturally over her shoulders. with a stray lock casually falling onto his
Grayson, holding Marissa’s hand, had his hair meticulously groomed, making him the spitting Image of Dominick. With the three of them standing side by side, they looked every bit like a family. Seeing this, Paisley crossed her arms and I out a soft chuckk.
Lucy asked in confusion, “What’s so funny, Ms. Sutton?” She glance toward Dominick and Marissa in the distance and thought they looked oddly familiar. A moment later, it clicked–Lucy had seen them before at that fancy restaurant when Gary hosted a dinner.
Paisley shook her head and grumbled inwardly. Talk about bad luck.”
