structions. Stage an accident and then buy off the doctors. Once it’s done, I’ll transfer the

The two–minute recording finished, leaving the room in a heavy silence.
“Ms. Dominguez, are you going to give me an explanation?”
I watched as the color drained from Laverne’s face, pressing on. “Why did my diamond
ecklace turn into plastic beads? And what about your leg injury? Is it real or fake?”
This recording had revealed everything.
Laverne had staged the whole scene to cover up the fact that she’d taken my diamond
ecklace.
I didn’t care what her intentions were; all I wanted was my necklace back.
Laverne bit her lip, tears streaming down her face, unable to respond.
Feeling impatient, I stepped forward, ready to grab her and demand answers.
But before I could get close, Ayden shoved me hard on the shoulder, nearly knocking me off
balance.
“Patricia, have you had enough of this? If you have a problem, bring it to me. Even if you don’t
like Laverne, there’s no need to slander her like this. I’m so disappointed in you!”
I looked at him with a cold smile, shocked that he still didn’t believe me after everything that
had happened.
