Epilogue 2
This was Samuel Knight… the straight–A student.
The day Lily transferred to our school, I discovered something strange. I could read minds. Listening to her thoughts felt bizarre and almost absurd. But to my surprise, everything she predicted seemed to come true. Was she really able to foresee the future?
She could always predict the beginning of things with accuracy, but the outcomes never matched her expectations. It left me questioning everything. Who was I supposed to believe?
Then came the day when Sophia confessed to me in front of everyone. Not only did she confess, but she kissed me in front of the entire class. At that moment, all I wanted was to get away from both of these girls. It was all too unreal. Whatever the truth was, I had to focus on the SATs. I couldn’t afford to let all my hard work go to waste.
In the end, I got into the best university, while Sophia, that fool, barely managed to get into a community college.
I had the materials to help her, but then I overheard Lily’s next prediction. This time, it was something serious about life and death. I started to worry about Sophia. Could she really do something like that?
When I watched James‘ race, he was supposed to cross the finish line first, but instead, he veered off course and didn’t finish as expected. That was when I started to wonder if Lily’s prediction might be true.
But just as I feared for James‘ safety, he somehow survived. He looked at me and said, “Sophia is a good person. There must be some special reason we don’t understand for why she did what she did. That’s why I believe in her.”
I believed him. Any girl who had the courage to confess her feelings like that couldn’t be a bad person.
By the time the new semester started, I found out that Sophia had gone abroad to study.
I managed to secure a spot as an exchange student in my second year, and followed her to the same school. When she saw me, she smiled and teasingly said, “Well, I’ve never seen the hero chase after the villain before. Did you miss me?”
I reached out and lightly tapped her forehead.
“You kissed me in front of everyone and then
n off. Now you’re going to have to take responsibility.”
