He left me at the altar not knowing i was dying Chapter 7

Two or three seconds passed before Cole hung up

A heavy weight settled in my chest

Cole didn’t want to see me either, did het

I felt like a child who had been abandoned by the world

But I couldn’t blame Cole

After all, I had chosen Tristan over him, pushing Cole away without a second thought

It made sense that he wouldn’t want to see me

The

night grew colder, the icy chill creeping up my spine like a parasite

Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my chest

I sat up, coughing violently, the pain so intense it felt like my heart might burst out of my chest

Cough, cough, cough

I looked down at my hand, and there, smeared across my palm, was a pool of blood

It seemed the system had already set my death in motion

I would die at Tristan’s weddingof myocarditis, just as planned

I grabbed a tissue from the bedside table and wiped the blood from my hand

In doing so, I accidentally knocked into the panda plush

Lana, don’t cry. Tristan was wrong

Lana, don’t cry. Tristan was wrong.”

How ironic…

In the end, the only one still by my side was this stupid panda plush

Tristan didn’t want me anymore

Cole didn’t want

it to see me

I was sopathetic

I let out a bitter laugh and turned over in bed, hoping to fall asleep

Around four or five in the morning, I heard the wooden door creak open

A deep, raspy voice called from outside

Lana Brooks, open the door.”

I know you’re in there.”

was Cole’s voice

In the darkness, a sliver of light broke through

He had come to see me after all

I opened the door, and there he was

Cole stood there, a black scarf wrapped around his neck, his hair dusted with white snow

The streetlamp behind him cast a soft yellow glow, and his nose was bright red from the cold

But he didn’t seem to care about the freezing air at all. He pulled me into his arms without hesitation

Lana, I’m sorry,he whispered

I came too late.”

It wasn’t too late

Not at all

Feeling the warmth of Cole’s embrace, I felt a lump rise in my throat

He was my salvation

At least, he could save me during the final two days I had left
