Cassian snapped back to reality when Amber caught his attention. He adjusted his posture, smirking at her with a te her gare.

“I just had a flashback for a moment. You were saying“” he asked.
Amber’s previously smooth forehead wrinkled in frustration at Cassian’s lack of focus. “Seriously? You’ve only had one glass of wine, and you’re already active like you’re drunk. What I’m asking is, don’t you have any ideas about Lorraine? You don’t even know where she is right now?”
Cassian squinted at her. “Hmm.. I can see your frustration, Amber, and you wouldn’t be coming to me tonight if you didn’t need my help. Let’s be real. I’m the last person you’d want to ask for a favor. So. I’m curious–why hasn’t anyone helped you find my brother and his ex–wife from the beginning!
Amber rolled her eyes, her blood boiling at his question, a reminder of how scandalous her life had become. But her real frustration was with her father and father–in–law, both of whom were hiding the whereabouts of her fiance. Despite using Anjie as an excuse, they still refused to help her.
in his life! D Do you think
“That’s because they’re protecting Lorraine and Callistol They’re letting them have an affair while I am the legal woman in I’m the unreasonable one here, Cassian? Isn’t it them!! Especially since I have a child with Callistor
Unable to contain her anger, Amber poured it into gulping down a bottle of wine
by her words. He
Cassian listened to her rant, but despite the drama and emotions she displayed, his expression remained calm, as if unaffected by winked, casually swirled the drink in his glass, and took a sip. “Amber, calm down,” he said as he set the glass down with a deliberate ease. “Nothing will come of you screaming like this. It’s not like you don’t know how this works. Callisto “he paused, grinning slyly, “-he’ll come back sooner or later. It’s only a matter of time
Amber froze, clearly stunned. “What? What do you mean, Cassiant He’s coming back? Where did you get that information!”
Cassian’s smile turned bitter. “I heard is from our father. Callisto called him recently and told him he’d be coming home soon.”
Amber’s eyes widened, disbelief written all over her face. “And you didn’t tell me this right away!!*
Cassian shook his head, seemingly amused by her reaction. “I didn’t think it was important to you… but now I see it is”
Amber was elated by the news, practically jumping out of her seat in joy, unable to contain herself. “Callisto’s coming back! Finally, this will all be over! He’ll be with me again, and he’ll realize that I’m the only woman meant for him!” she exclaimed, her voice brimming with excitement and hope.
But before Amber could fully celebrate. Cassian’s voice dropped, taking on a more somber tone. “But before you get too excited there’s something you should know, Amber.”
Amber paused, her eyes returning to Cassian, her excitement dimming with each second of silence. “What do you mean?”
Cassian seemed to be playing with her, not answering right away, letting the tension build before finally locking eyes with her. “Do you know that Anjie isn’t the only one with Callisto’s child?”
Amber swallowed hard, confusion knitting her brows. “What do you mean?
Cassian sighed, but the glint of amusement in his eyes betrayed his enjoyment of tormenting her with this information. “Callisto has a child with Lorraine.
It felt like ice water had been dumped on Amber, In an instant, all the joy and hope she had just moments ago drained away. She stood there, speechless, unable to process what she had just heard.
“A child… with Lorraine?” she whispered wealdy. “How…why didn’t I know!”
Cassian looked at her, a trace of mockery in his eyes. “You didn’t think Callisto would stay loyal to you, did you? He and Lorraine have had a child for a long time, and despite Lorraine’s efforts to hide it, it was inevitable. They have a child. That’s probably why the patriarchs in our family hasn’t been eager to help you!
Amber was now overflowing with rage and hatred. She stood up and stormed toward Cassian, her fists clenched tightly in anger. “And you’re telling me this now?! Why would you let me look like a fool, Cassian!” She shoved him lightly, but he didn’t budge.
Cassian nonchalantly straightened his shirt, completely unfazed by Amber’s violent reaction. He even smirked, a deep smile suggesting he had something else brewing in his mind. “I just thought it was amusing, seeing how desperate you are for a man who’s already moved on. And I abso wanted to see how you’d crawl back to Callisto after all this”
Amber was close to losing all hope, but she couldn’t give up. She wouldn’t lose. She couldn’t. So she forced herself to hide the disappointment and

pain welling up inside. She stepped closer to Cassian, her face inches from his, eyes burning with fury.
“This isn’t over, Cassian. I will find a way. Callisto will come back to me, and I’ll make sure no other woman stands in our way–not even 1
even Lorraine.”
Cassian smiled again, clearly enjoying Amber’s desperation. “I like your fire, Amber. But we’ll see how far that takes you. Because you know, even if Callisto returns. Lorraine and their child will always be part of the picture. That’s something you can never change.”
Cassian’s words hit Amber like daggers to her heart, but she refused to show it. She turned away, walking out of the room, struggling to keep the tears from spilling from her eyes,
Once Amber left, Cassian watched her retreating figure, his expression thoughtful. Behind that mocking smile, he had plans of his own, plans he hadn’t shared with anyone. He knew Callisto was coming back, but it wasn’t certain who he would return to–Amber or Lorraine.
But one thin
one thing was clear to Cassian: Callisto’s return would bring chaos, and Cassian was ready to use that to his advantage.
