Chapter 39
When Henry entered his company office, he wasted no time and quickly dialed Lorraine’s number.
The phone kept ringing before he finally got an answer. “Hello, who’s this? Mommy’s busy with the laundry.”
Henry Trore in his tracks, his eyes wide with surprise at the voice on the other end of the line. He had expected to hear his daughter’s gentle voice, but instead, it was a little boy speaking-
FAVAVİL KOWALL, wait!” he stammered
If he wasn’t mistaken, Lorraine had a son! The boy had answered Lorraine’s number and called her mommy”
He’s talking to his grandsont
“Wait a moment, kid, don’t hang up, okay!” he pleaded.
“Hmm! Lucian!” the boy suddenly shouted, making Henry’s ear ache. “Someone’s calling on Mommy’s phone, bring this to her. I’m still working an
my puzzle
“Why did you answer it in
wer it in the first place? You should have let it ring until Mommy picked it up later!”
“But I already answered it. He told me not to hang up.
“Then give it to Mom yourself. I’m busy fixing my car?
Henry heard the boy sigh. “Wait a minute. I’ll give it to Mommy.”
Henry heard two children. They sounded the same but he was certain there were two of them, and both referred to Lorraine as “Mommy.”
Henry blinked in surprise as he sat down in his high office chair. “Kid, is Lorraine your Mommy?*
“Uh, yes sir,” the boy replied.
Something stirred in Henry’s heart. He smiled to himself, but his eyes were filled with sadness.
“Who were you talking to just now!” he asked again.
“Why are you asking?” the boy replied suspiciously
“Oh He
Henry quickly thought of a reason. “It’s because you sound the same. I thought you were just talking to yourself”
“Oh!” The cute voice chuckled. “It’s because it’s my twin brother. Not only do we look alike, but we also sound a lot alike!
“T–Twins” he muttered to himself. He held his forehead, blinking several times. “Lorraine gave
birth to twins
“Excuse me, but you sound like an old man. Are you one of my mother’s business partners!” the boy asked curiously.
“Oh, I–L Tm.. Actually I am—”
“Sweetie? Who are you talking to with my phone!” Lorraine’s voice interrupted his attempted introduction.
“Someone is calling you, Mommy. I answered it. Here…”
The ph
phone was passed to Lorraine. She glanced at the number before realizing wi
who was calling. “Dad! Hello! Why are you calling?”
Henry gasped. For a moment, his mind went blank and he forgot the original reason he called his daughter.
“Lorraine..” he said her name softly. “S–So you had twins?”
Lorraine was silent for a moment before letting out a breath. “What do you want?”
1-1” he mustered his courage. He felt guilty for what he had done to his own daughter and was now ashamed, almost too embarrassed to face her. He could imagine how angry Lorraine was with him, so he chose his words carefully.
But his curiosity about the two children grew, even though he had only heard their voices. His ambition to see them in person and spend some time with them increased. However, he knew Lorraine wouldn’t be pleased, especially since she hadn’t forgiven him during their last phone call.
“Your twins, what are their names!” he finally asked after hesitating for a few seconds.

But Lorraine was protective, fearing her twins praceful lives would be disrupted. “Can you just tell me what you want? Why did you call!”
want him to come home. But I have no contact with him, and I know
Feeling dejected, he responded. “It’s about Callisto. Your mother and sister wa vou still needd him there”
Lorraine was silent for a moment before speaking again. “11l go to his house how so you can talk to him about it. At the moment, my child doesn’t need him, so he’s free to return to Amber.
Her voice was steady and indifferent, devoid of any emotion. Henry breathed a sigh of relief. It seemned Lorraine no longer loved that man. He hoped his quess was correct, so she wouldn’t be hurt anymore because of Amber.
“Hold on for a few minutes Lorraine walked out of her house to the neighboring house where Callisto was
Since it was still midday and Callisto usually lounged on his porch at this hour, she saw him easily.
He greeted her with a sweet smile and a delighted face, like a dog seeing its owner. He wagged his tail as he stood still, waiting for her to approach.
When she finally got close, Callisto was about to hug her, but she gave him a sharp look like a knife.
Callisto stopped but his joy remained. “You’re here to see me?”
“Who else!” Lorraine snapped, handing her cellphone to him. “Father is calling you.”
“M–My father!” he asked, surprised,
“No, mine,” she replied expressionlessly. “He wants to t
talk to you.
“Oh.” Callisto’s expression faded. Reluctantly, he took the cellphone and held it to his ear. “Yes, Dad”
“Tsk!” Henry hissed when he heard Callisto’s voice and how he addressed him. “I don’t accept you in our family anymore, so drop the “Dad”
Callisto frowned. “That’s not possible. By the way, my wife said you want to talk to me about something”
Both Lorraine and Henry reacted with displeasure and annoyance
“Well, bad news for you. Your fiancée wants you back here or she’ll really go crazy!”
dat
Callisto’s thick brows furrowed at what he heard. “Let her go crazy on her own, but I’m not going back there! My real home is here. Tell her to die and make it quick as possible!”
“Callisto!” Henry shouted. “Do you really think she won’t find a way to get back at you! Sooner or later, she’ll find out where you and Lorraine are, and when that happens, she might target Lorraine and your child!”
Then, let her do itt Next time she wakes up, she’ll be in prison. She’s not a threat to me. I also have ways to prevent her from doing what she wants to my family
“But she is also your family, you amnesiac bastard!! You two have a daughter together to prioritize!” Henry’s veins bulged on his forehead in anger.
Callisto became even angrier. “I only recognize Lorraine and our twins as my family! Goodbye, have a nice day!!” he ended the call with frustration, Lorraine, who had been listening, was now almost devoid of any emotion on her face. “Wow, Everything you said was utterly ridiculous.”
“Hmm! Whatever you people say. You won’t change my mind.” Callisto said seriously. “You and our children are the only ones I consider my family. End of discussion he emphasized as he placed her cellphone back in her hand. “Now, do you want to come inside! I’ll cook your favorite
chicken cur-
“Your cooking sucks. I regret now why I tolerated eating your cooking back then.” Lorraine said straight–faced, rolling her eyes before turning around and walking away.
Callisto was left dumbfounded. “W–What? 5–She did what?”
