Before Nick killed me, he said a lot of things. I can barely remember most of it, except for one line that struck a chord:

Raising my glass, I replied, “This is just the beginning”
“Camilla, you’re stunning,” Julian mused with a smile, as if his gaze hadn’t missed a thing.
I looked up, his smirk giving him a certain charm, especially with that small red mole near his eye. We’d been meeting frequently over the past months, sharing drinks, and every interaction had felt easy, even…pleasant.
But as my eyes traveled downward, I couldn’t ignore how frail he looked.
Noticing me watching him, Julian casually refilled my glass, his graceful hands belying his position as a CEO.
“Why so quiet tonight?” he asked.
