hearing…
“You never loved her in the first place, so why do you look worried if ever I take her away from you? She belongs to me in the first place. I took care of her before you got her pregnant.” Lucas sneered.
That earned a growl in Jacob. He was furious. He took a step forward and they are now face. to face with each other.
“Don’t you fucking dare to challenge your Alpha.”
Lucas didn’t say anything about what he said but his eyes narrowed.
“Don’t waste your time on your precious Mandy or else, hell will break lose. I don’t care if you‘ re my Alpha. But Bella is your mate.”

mate.”
Lucas walked away after that and left Jacob that night. While me? I don’t know what to feel…
The moon hung high in the sky, casting an eerie glow over the village. I watched as Jacob slept with his phone clutched in his hand, his brow furrowed in troubled dreams. I wished I could shake him awake, but I was just a lingering spirit now, stuck in the shadows.
When the first light of dawn broke through the windows, Jacob jolted awake. He grabbed his phone, eyes widening as he saw a new
message.
But it was from Mandy. As he read her message, disappointment washed over his face. Mandy said Marco was in trouble,

locked up, and needed Jacob’s help.
“Don’t worry, Mandy. I‘ ll go there today,” Jacob said, his voice firm but weary.
I followed him as he got ready, a mix of anger and sadness swirling inside me. Did he even care that I was gone?
I was the one who got killed and Marco was there. If Jacob knew the truth, would he feel any guilt?
Once Jacob got to Mandy’s home, they
jumped into his car and headed to the old stone fort on the outskirts of the village. The moment we arrived, a cold shiver ran down my spine.
Even though I knew I was dead, fear still crept over me, and I found myself hiding behind Jacob, seeking comfort from him,

even in my ghostly form.
Marco sat there, handcuffed and cocky, his arrogance as clear as the scars he had left behind. Jacob’s jaw tightened. They were the only ones left inside the room. Mandy was outside, waiting.
Marco leaned back in his chair, his leg swinging lazily. “Alpha, it’s a surprise to see you here. You‘ Il help me, won’t you?”
Jacob’s irritation was palpable, but he kept his cool. “Let’s get to the point. Why were you with the rogue wolf when the incident happened?”
“I wasn‘ t with the rogue wolf, I just happened to be there,” Marco snapped, his impatience showing.
Jacob’s expression hardened. “Don‘ t talk

back to me like that or I will abandon you here. These details are crucial for your case. They could determine your fate.”
Marco smirked, leaning in. “You love Mandy, don’t you? Help me out, and I can guarantee you’ll have her.”
Jacob’s eyes narrowed. “You‘ re not
hearing me. If you want to avoid the worst, you need to tell me everything. If you don’t, no one can help you.”
Then he slammed his hand on the table, breaking it to pieces, making Marco jump.
“Now, tell me the truth!”
Marco looked scared, but he still played tough. “I…I wasn’t there.”
“You‘ re lying, I can fucking sense it,”
Jacob pressed, searching Marco’s face for

the truth.
Marco’s bravado faltered a bit. “She was
pregnant but still walked out at night. She should blame her bad luck! Besides…she deserves it.”
That last line twisted the knife in my heart. He was a monster, but he still played the victim. As he stood to leave, a thought struck him. “Which road did the killing happened on?”
“The road just outside the village before go here,” Marco replied, clueless to the storm brewing around him.

At those words, Jacob swayed on his feet, nearly collapsing. He grabbed the back of the chair for support, shock flashing across his face. I felt my heart race, knowing that the truth was right in front of him.

The place where my life ended, where Jacob have left me. The place where everything
would change.
In that moment, I wished more than anything I could reach out and tell him everything. But I was trapped in the shadows, forced to watch as he struggled with the truth.
The tension in the air felt thick as Jacob turned his gaze back to Marco. I could see the realization dawning on him, a flicker of anger sparking in his eyes.
“No… it can’t be. It was Bella…?” Jacob
whispered, his voice breaking. He glanced at Marco, his eyes blazing with desperation. “It was my mate who was killed there?”
Marco stood frozen, unable to deny it. He knew it was me.

“TELL ME!” Jacob roared, grabbing Marco, his wolf just beneath the surface, dangerous and fierce. The raw power in his gaze made Marco tremble.
“Yes… it was her,” Marco finally admitted, his voice barely audible.
Jacob’s grip loosened slightly as he took in the words, a flicker of shock in his eyes, but he quickly shook his head, trying to steady himself.
“You think you can just walk away from this? You think I’m going to let you get away with what you did?!”
Marco’s cockiness faded.
Jacob stepped forward, towering over him.
“You‘ re going to pay for this. You think you can hide behind your lies? You‘ re wrong!”

I could feel the weight of the moment pressing down, the tension stretching like a bowstring ready to snap. Jacob was fighting for me now, and I felt a surge of hope. Maybe, just maybe, he would figure it all out.
With determination, Jacob leaned closer to Marco. “You messed with the wrong one, and I won’t let you get away with it. I’ll make sure you pay for what you did to Bella!”
Jacob was furious. He was losing control of his rage. He flared his hands up ready to claw Marco when he suddenly yelled.
“Mandy ordered me to kill her!
