Chapter 6
Jessica’s expression froze. She awkwardly withdrew her hand but continued cursing.
“It was truly my mistake to ever agree to let Eden marry you. Had I known you were this evil woman that brought chaos to our home, I would have never allowed Eden to marry you.”

I raised an eyebrow indifferently and turned to see Eden still in that dazed state, leaning over Serena’s hospital bed with his eyes filled with regret and unwillingness.
Having been married to him for three years, I had never seen him shed a tear for me. Even when he thought I was dead, he smiled while dreaming of the good life that one million dollars in compensation would bring.
And now, witnessing Serena’s tragic condition, he cried as if he had lost the most precious thing in his life.
I looked coldly at Eden weeping over Serena’s bed. Just as I was about to leave, Eden suddenly lunged at me, tightly grasping my
throat.
“Bitch! It’s your fault Serena is like this. It’s all your bad!”
His eyes were bloodshot as if he wouldn’t stop until he killed me. No matter how hard I struggled, I could not break free from his grip.

My face turned purple from his hold, and the stunned reporters outside finally forced open the door and rushed in to rescue me from the deranged Eden.
Only then did Eden snap back to reality, and the first thing he saw was a group of reporters looking at him with accusatory
gazes.
Once he realized what he had just done, his legs went weak and he sank to the ground.
Seeing Eden in such a dazed state, Jessica acted like a shrew, both hitting and yelling at the reporters surrounding Eden, “Stop filming and get out! Do you know you are violating personal privacy? Get out, all of you!”
I sat on the floor, clutching my neck and watching the chaos unfold, wanting to laugh.
Jessica threw a fit, managing to drive everyone else out, then slumped into a chair muttering about the million dollars she had lost.
I pushed myself up to leave and left a few words. “Find some time to discuss the division of our assets in the divorce.”
Eden, unwilling to give in, glared at me. “Juliet, don’t play hard to get. That doesn’t work with me. No matter how much you try, I won’t look at you again. Divorce is certain. Don’t regret it later.”

I didn’t turn back. “Then, see you in court.”
