Chapter191
The next day, Remy’s classmate came to Laura’s.
Sitting on the couch with his classmate, Remy bossed Laura around. Standing there, Laura was surprised.
I used to take orders from Remy. They took it for granted that the sister should help the brother.
Now, it was Laura’s turn. She couldn’t believe her ears.
“Hurry, Mom. My classmate is waiting.” Remy got impatient.
Unwillingly, Laura did as Remy said.
Looking at my dad, who was sleeping in the bedroom, and Remy, who was playing video games in the living room, Laura sighed.
When she took out her phone, the card fell out again. She picked it up. After reading it, she froze.
I drifted in midair beside Laura. The words on the card seemed ironic now. I was so happy when Laura invited me to her birthday party. I told her I hoped to get along with her in the future. However, in the end, I lost everything I had wished for.
I didn’t get love, and I even lost my life.
Laura gazed at the card for a long while as if she were trying to bore it with her eyes.

Yet when I drifted away, the card was burned on the stove. It was gone forever.
To Laura, my love was a burden even though it was just a small card.
I let out a sigh of relief. Only then did I notice the tears on my face. It turned out ghosts cried, too.
Even dead, they could feel the pain.
<So, Mom, I won’t love you anymore.
I’ve said this a lot of times before. It’s for real this time.>
My body was retrieved, and Antonio had been arrested. My parents and Remy were still smiling when they went to get my body.
Antonio laughed when Laura sat in front of him.
“Can you blame me? Back then, no one would marry their daughter to me. But you married Grace to me because you wanted my money!
“You should’ve expected this from the beginning. You killed your own daughter!” On the other side of the window, Antonio laughed like a maniac.
However, Laura remained surprisingly calm as if the other person didn’t matter.
It made sense. She never loved me.
Of course, she was composed.

Laura opened her mouth but uttered no words. Antonio also found her reaction unusual. He looked at Laura in astonishment.
My body was cremated.
As the black smoke rose, I became ash in a small casket. Remy held the urn in disgust. Something seemed on Laura’s mind when they left the funeral home.
When passing by a trash can, my dad took the urn from Remy and threw it away. “It’ll take space at home. This is better.”
Standing beside the trash can, I watched helplessly.
Unexpectedly, Laura became hysterical and picked the urn up. Heads turned to watch.
My dad hissed, “Have you lost your mind? How can you bring it home? It’s bad luck!” He went over to snatch the urn away, but Laura wouldn’t let go.
While they were fighting, the urn was broken. Laura fell to the ground and fainted. Realizing how serious it was, Remy called an ambulance.
After the ambulance drove away, I shifted my gaze to the ash on the ground. It was such a small pile. Once scattered in the wind, it could never be found.
I reached out to hold it but failed. It was getting farther and farther away from me.
I wanted to call for help, but no one could see me.
I prostrated over the ash. It was only scattering faster. Passers–by

hurried to avoid it, thinking it was bad luck.
After standing there for a long while, for the first time, I felt cold. Suddenly, an old lady in an orange uniform came.
She picked up the urn, gathered the scattered ash, and put it back into the urn. Then, she placed the urn beside the trash can. “Kid, your family will come for you. Wait patiently.”
She thought I was left by mistake, but she didn’t know that they abandoned me.
I waited from morning till midnight. Since no one came to get me, the old lady buried me among the flowers on the roadside. She said, “Kid, you must’ve suffered.
“These flowers will keep you company. I hope you’ll be happy in your next lifetime.”
After that, she walked away with the broom on her shoulder and bent over to sweep the streets. A sting from the nose came, and I was weeping again.
I left and came to the hospital where Laura was treated.
In the ward, holding a sheet, my dad was arguing with Remy.
“You have no money? Didn’t Grace and your mom give you money? Did you spend it all?”
With his head lowered, Remy retorted, “I don’t have money. Mom has the same disease as Grace did. Didn’t Grace live?”
I drifted closer and saw the diagnosis on the sheet. Terminal pancreatic cancer.
It was untreatable. The patients relied on expensive medication to prolong their life. I knew the treatment was meaningless, so I gave all my money to Laura. Never had I expected this would happen to Laura, too.
Laura had just come around. Leaning against the headboard, she frowned.
“Remy, be honest! You can’t possibly have spent so much!”
“I have!” Remy spluttered. “Shit! I spent a fortune, and these skins are all I get? This game stinks!”
Before Remy finished speaking, Laura closed her eyes.
I didn’t know what she was thinking, but I saw a tear flow out of her eye. My dad didn’t give up. He was still arguing with Remy.
At last, my dad took Remy’s phone. When he saw the balance, he realized Remy was telling the truth. Just then, Laura passed out again.
