Chapter 30
Olivia’s POV
“The horse ranch. It’s been a long time since I rode a horse!”
I thought for a moment and realized that it was indeed so, and I said, “Alright.”
“Cool! I’ll swing by tomorrow morning at nine!”
“Got it. Get some sleep then.”
After hanging up, I chugged a glass of milk and hit the hay.
The next day around eight, Hannah rolled up in her car.
March in LA usually meant rain, but today was a rare sunny day.
As I was staring out the window, Hannah suddenly called out to me, “Olivia, what did you say to Zander that night?”
I arched a brow and asked, “Nothing. Why?”
Hannah took out her phone and tapped on Twitter. “Here, see for yourself.”
On her screen was Zander’s tweet, reading, “Day 16 of pursuing Olivia.” The update stopped on that day.
“He gave up just like that?” I exclaimed in astonishment.
I wasn’t bummed or anything–just kinda puzzled.
Hannah snorted disdainfully and said, “So, he’s just a jerk!”

Suddenly remembering what Zander had said that day, I raised an eyebrow and agreed with Hannah, “Yep, you’re right.”
Honestly, those little tricks to charm girls didn’t work on me at all.
Just then, the light turned green and I pointed ahead. “Let’s roll.”
Hannah looked like she wanted to ask more questions but dropped it.
When we arrived at the horse ranch, it was already 9:30 am. It was Saturday, and there were quite a few people there.
It felt great to ride again after so long; after one lap around the arena, my mood lifted significantly.
I noticed Hannah had wandered off somewhere. Then I got off the horse and started looking for some water. From a distance, I heard someone calling me. “Olivia.”
Turning my head over, I saw Beta Jeffrey riding toward me.
“It’s really you, what a coincidence, Olivia. So you know how to ride a horse?”
It was only then that I realized that I had never shown this skill during my time with the Dawn Pack, and Marsh didn’t care about me either.
So folks of the Dawn Pack had no clue I could ride a horse.
Beta Jeffrey rode a chestnut horse, and he looked at me, seemingly waiting for my response.
I glanced at him and replied softly, “No, I don’t.”
Beta Jeffrey looked as if he was humiliated and muttered, “Then why did you come here?”

“Can’t I just walk a horse?”
Just then, Hannah came back.
Seeing Beta Jeffrey, she scowled. “Ugh! Why do you keep popping up everywhere?!”

Beta Jeffrey clicked his tongue. “Is running into me ruining your day or something?”
“Yep. Your Alpha is a jerk. Since you are his Beta, you can’t be any better!”
As soon as Hannah finished speaking, Marsh rode over on a white horse.
I looked over and was slightly stunned. Although Marsh was a jerk, he looked quite charming as he rode that white horse.
Hannah glanced at me subconsciously, and I averted my gaze. Tossing the reins to her, I said, “I’m going to get some water.”
With that said, I headed inside.

During the break.
Watching Zander approach with those deep–set eyes, I arched a brow and asked, “How did you know I was here?”
Before I could finish speaking, he was right in front of me.
His chiseled features leaned closer. Under his high, straight nose, his thin, red lips curved into a smile. His narrow, deep eyes under his sharp brows fixed on me with a half–smile. “Someone told me that the scenery at the horse ranch today would be particularly beautiful, so I came to check it out.”

He paused before adding, “Well, it’s indeed very nice.”

Zander’s gaze was so captivating, and I felt my cheeks heat up under his
stare.
I subtly shifted my focus away and tightened the cap on my water bottle. “Gotta go. My friend is waiting for me.”
After saying that, I walked out.
Zander let out a light laugh and followed me.
The two of us almost went out together. When Hannah saw Zander, she paused for a moment and walked up to me. “Why is he here?”
“I don’t know.”
‘I don’t own this place, so I can’t stop Zander from coming here.‘
I then mounted the horse. I was here to relax, not to feel upset. So, I said to Hannah, “I’m gonna take another lap.”
As I said so, I squeezed my legs tight against the horse’s sides and it started running.
Hannah jumped onto her own mount, trying to catch up, and in an instant, Zander was all alone.
The sound of hooves thundering echoed behind me. I thought it was Hannah catching up, but when I turned my head, it turned out to be Zander.
He was dressed in a British style today, a light brown vest layered over his white shirt, making him look effortlessly handsome while seated atop his horse.
Seeing me looking over, Zander smirked and asked, “Olivia, how about a

I had been riding for ten years, ever since I was fifteen. Every time I went out with Dad, people always praised how well I’d ride.
So I stopped my horse and said, “What’s your idea?”
“See that white gazebo way over there? The first one there wins.”
I took a glance and asked, “What’s at stake?”
“If I win, you have to join me next week for an auction event. If I lose, I won’t come to you next week.”
It sounded fair enough, so I pondered for a moment before smiling at him, “Alright, let’s get this started!”
He shot another glance before counting down loudly, “3-2-1!”
As soon as those words left his mouth, our horses bolted forward racing neck and neck.
